Claude — web & mobile

EasiestPaid plan
  1. On claude.ai (in a browser — phone or desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. URL: https://mcp.scissor.news/mcp — leave Client ID / Client Secret blank.
  3. Click Connect → on the NewScan page that opens, paste your key → Authorize.
  4. Done — the newscan tools now work in Claude on web and the mobile app.
Needs a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise). Free accounts don't show "Add custom connector" — use Option B instead.
B

Claude Desktop

Any plan
  1. Open your Claude config file:
    Windows · %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
    macOS · ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  2. Add the block below (put your key after Bearer ), save, and restart Claude Desktop.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "newscan": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote",
               "https://mcp.scissor.news/mcp",
               "--header", "Authorization:${AUTH}"],
      "env": { "AUTH": "Bearer sk-mcp-YOUR_KEY" }
    }
  }
}
Requires Node.js installed (npx ships with it).
C

Code / your own agent

Plain HTTPS + a Bearer header. Works from any language or agent framework.
# top 5 stories right now
curl -s https://mcp.scissor.news/mcp \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk-mcp-YOUR_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call",
       "params":{"name":"top_stories","arguments":{"limit":5}}}'
